Your DocuSigner profile page is where you can view and manage your personal details, your registered signature, and other account-specific information. It's important to keep this information up-to-date.
Accessing Your Profile
You can typically access your profile page by clicking on your avatar or name in the application header (often in the top-right corner) and selecting "Profile" from the dropdown menu. You can also navigate to it from the main Settings page.
Information Displayed on Your Profile
Your profile page usually displays:
- Avatar: Your profile picture.
- Full Name: Your registered full name.
- Title/Role: Your job title or role (e.g., "Document Signer").
- Contact Information:
- Email Address (usually not editable directly on the profile page, see Security Settings)
- Phone Number (if provided)
- Company Name (if provided)
- User Tag: Your unique identifier within DocuSigner, useful for connecting or referring.
- Registered Signature: A preview of your current electronic signature.
- Account Details: Such as your join date or user role.
- Referral Link (if applicable): A link you can share to invite others to DocuSigner.
Editing Your Profile Information
Most of your profile information (like Full Name, Phone Number, Company Name, Avatar, and Signature) can be edited from the main Settings page, usually under a "Profile" tab.
- Click the "Edit Profile" button on your profile page or navigate directly to Settings.
- Update the desired fields (e.g., Full Name, Phone, Company, Avatar URL).
- For your signature, refer to the Adding Your Signature guide for details on how to update it.
- Remember to save any changes you make.
Your email address and password changes are handled separately under the "Security" tab in Settings due to their sensitive nature.
User Tag and Referral Link
- User Tag: This tag (e.g., YourName#1234) is automatically generated and can be used for easy identification. You can copy it to share with others.
- Referral Link: If available, this link can be shared to invite new users to DocuSigner. When someone signs up using your referral link, they might be automatically added to your contacts, or you might receive referral benefits (depending on the platform's features).
Why Keep Your Profile Updated?
- Accurate Identification: Ensures your correct name appears on signed documents.
- Valid Signature: Your registered signature should be a true representation.
- Communication: Correct contact details ensure you receive important notifications (though primary email is managed in Security Settings).
Regularly reviewing your DocuSigner profile helps maintain the accuracy and integrity of your digital interactions.
