Viewing Documents
Learn how to access, view, and navigate your documents within DocuSigner.
DocuSigner provides a clear and organized way to view all your documents. This guide explains how to find and open your documents for review or further action.
Accessing Your Documents
Your documents are primarily accessible from the main dashboard and the "My Documents" section in the navigation sidebar. This section is often categorized:
- All Documents: A comprehensive list of every document associated with your account.
- Pending My Signature: Documents that require your action to sign.
- Completed: Documents that have been fully signed by all parties.
- Uploaded/Drafts: Documents you've uploaded but haven't yet sent for signature or fully configured.
Clicking on any of these categories will display the relevant list of documents.
Finding Specific Documents
As your document list grows, using search and filter tools becomes essential:
- Search Bar: Use the search bar (often on the dashboard or above document lists) to search by document name, participant names, or keywords from the AI-generated summary.
- Filters: Look for filter options to narrow down your documents by status (Pending, Signed, etc.), date range, or specific participants.
Opening and Viewing a Document
In the document list, each document is typically represented by a card or a row. To view a document:
- Locate the document you wish to view.
- Click on the document's name or an "Open Document" / "View Document" button associated with it.
- This will usually open the document in the DocuSigner PDF viewer or the Document Editor interface, depending on its status and your permissions.
The Document Viewer/Editor Interface
When viewing a document, you can typically expect:
- PDF Preview: A clear rendering of the PDF document.
- Navigation Tools: Options to zoom in/out, navigate between pages, and sometimes download the document.
- Field Highlights: If the document has signature fields, they might be highlighted, especially if action is required from you.
- Action Bar: Depending on the document's status and your role, you might see buttons to "Sign Document," "Add Fields," "Share," or "Finalize."
- Information Panel: Sometimes, a sidebar or panel displays document details like status, participants, and an activity log or audit trail.
Tips for Viewing Documents:
- Ensure your internet browser is up-to-date for the best viewing experience.
- For large documents, allow a few moments for the preview to load completely.
- Pay attention to any on-screen instructions or prompts if the document requires your signature.
Efficiently viewing and navigating your documents is key to managing your digital workflows effectively with DocuSigner.
